Science and Formulation
Science without the theatre
EverBright formulas start with the problem, then the evidence, then the ingredients. We prioritise human research when it provides a meaningful match to the ingredient, dose, population and outcome.
A published paper is not proof that a finished product will produce the same result. We do not use unrelated ingredients, animal studies or vastly different doses as shortcuts to a stronger sales claim.
Fat Metaboliser
Decaffeinated green tea extract
Roberts JD, Roberts MG, Tarpey MD, Weekes JC and Thomas CH. The effect of a decaffeinated green tea extract formula on fat oxidation, body composition and exercise performance. Journal of the International Society of Sports Nutrition. 2015;12:1. View the human study.
This is one of the closest positive human studies on a decaffeinated extract. The study used more EGCG than the EverBright formula, so it is background evidence rather than proof of an identical result.
Olive leaf extract
de Bock M et al. Olive leaf polyphenols improve insulin sensitivity in middle aged overweight men: a randomised, placebo controlled crossover trial. PLoS One. 2013;8:e57622. View the human study.
The study used 51.1 mg oleuropein daily. Fat Metaboliser provides approximately 75 mg. The research is relevant to the ingredient and dose, but it is not a trial of the finished formula.
Choline
Fischer LM et al. Sex and menopausal status influence human dietary requirements for the nutrient choline. American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. 2007;85:1275 to 1285. View the human study.
The accepted scientific basis for choline and normal lipid metabolism and normal liver function is set out in the EFSA scientific opinion.
Chromium
The accepted scientific basis for chromium and normal macronutrient metabolism and maintenance of normal blood glucose concentrations is set out in the EFSA scientific opinion.
Timeless NAD+ Support
Nicotinamide Riboside
Trammell SA et al. Nicotinamide riboside is uniquely and orally bioavailable in mice and humans. Nature Communications. 2016;7:12948. View the human research.
Martens CR et al. Chronic nicotinamide riboside supplementation is well tolerated and elevates NAD+ in healthy middle aged and older adults. Nature Communications. 2018;9:1286. View the human trial.
Spermidine
Kiechl S et al. Higher spermidine intake is linked to lower mortality: a prospective population based study. American Journal of Clinical Nutrition. 2018;108:371 to 380. View the human study.
This is observational dietary evidence. It does not prove that a spermidine supplement produces the same outcome.
How to read the evidence
- Ingredient research is not a clinical trial of the finished EverBright product.
- Human evidence is prioritised where it provides a meaningful match.
- Mechanism studies help explain why an ingredient may be considered, but they do not prove a consumer outcome.
- Authorised health claims are presented in relation to the relevant nutrient, not the product as a whole.
